What is everyone using to power their 5 Volt pic projects nowadays? Not as efficient as the Recom – but you can have twenty of those for the price of one Recom! Input voltage is up to 30V. The Recom units are a work of Art. This is plenty for most PIC designs, but personally I wouldn’t run one that hard with a 30V input as it will be too hot for long term reliability.

These are rather too much I think for your low current application because the chip alone draws several mA, but I’ve used the CS with good success. These small regulators are nominally capable of mA out, however in reality they are dissipation limited and you cant expect more than 0.
