She is trapped under mountains of paper and the thumb of her advisors, who preach forward-thinking and the need to forget the atrocities of Leck and move on.

Bitterbluf one, Fire ‘s coherent, there are just too many side plots in Bitterbluethe politics of the seven kingdoms, Bitterblue’s advisors, Saf, none of them coming together that well, so much so that it feels like the story’s jumping from one plot to the next without any overall purpose or reason – not in the sense that it’s horribly disjointed, but like everything keeps shifting from under you.


It was at those points that I would put down the book or struggle to keep going. It didn’t move the story forward. Lists with This Book. Their relationship definitely was not a forefront in this story, yet I found myself wishing that it had been simply because it would have made for more interesting parts in this rather sullen tale. Well, I don’t think it can be fully summed up. Bitterblue was as complicated and convoluted as any story I’ve ever read–unnecessarily, indulgently so.

Other books in the series. I see Katsa painted by some reviewers as ‘man hating’ because she doesn’t want to get married or to have children, which is an interpretation that never dawned on me when I read the review in progress Review May Five stars?

The book really could have just been a novella. When commanded to dole out an unfair punishment, Katsa defies King Randa and sets out with Po to graceking the true kidnappers of the old Lienid, Tealiff. So let’s sum it all up: Bitterblue Graceling Realm 3 by Kristin Cashore. Magical rooms hidden in the city where people tell stories and enchant the listeners. Though I do wish there was more because it kinda ended a little bitterblje open for my liking less. This is what I expected of books like The Queen of the Tearling. They lie about everything and anything, often without any discernable motive.
