The two stories, although supposed to be short, are just too underdeveloped.

Girl in the Mirror felt rushed and as such, has an unsatisfying ending for the reader. The Memory Maker They say you never forget your first love. There is an unexpected darkness at the heart of these stories that suggests Ahern is heading in a new direction, even if it is still firmly in the realm of the fairytale.

Ahern has left me reeling! After reading the first story, there was a haunting feeling suspended in me. I wanted a better resolve; I wanted something with a happier ending. Yes, it was boring but it also didn’t have that “umph” factor unlike what the first story had.

There is definitely a darker edge to these stories, however. Some people would do anything to hold on to the past and, for one heartbroken man, that means finding a way to relive those precious moments… Why is it that the most prized stories are the ones dealing with loss of someone? The woman’s granddaughter, Lila, has never questioned this habit and is startled to see that both her grandmother and the old house scare her friends. In conclusion, I would recommend this to everyone.

Mar 19, Ella rated giro liked it. All in all, an enjoyable read, and I am never disappointed by Ahearn. It was a nice read overall. Does the fact that ahhern has no kith or kin make his life any less valuable? Certified BuyerAllahabad. Girl in the Mirror was an interesting idea, but perhaps could have been dealt with better as a full length novel.

Moving on a few years and it is Lila’s wedding day, she drives to her grandmothers house to change into her dress and the desire to see herself in her dress overwhelms her obedience and she disobeys her grandmother and pulls off one of the black sheets covering a large mirror.

I like it when the characters are vague not the plot. But when the second Judith enters his world, everything becomes more messy. Again, I didn’t know the plot of this book so I didn’t know that it would only consist of two short stories and that the title was only meant for the first one.

The second story was more my thing but again I felt as though the story was rushed and unexplained. The storyline is kinda slow, the character is interesting. She is now published in nearly fifty countries, and has sold over twenty-five million copies of zhern novels worldwide.

Her stories are beautiful, unique and always have a dash of magic in them. Instead, it builds them where they are fading or where there were none to begin with.
